We thought the hotel was beautiful and our room in particular was excellent. The staff were very friendly and very approachable with ideas for outings. We found the food very good although the restaurant at dinner was almost too quiet. Overall, however, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to our friends.

Rothay Manor was well situated for the Lakes. The room was large, well cleaned and comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful.
There are lots of "rules and regulations" and whilst children are welcome, we couldn't eat in the dining room after 7pm as a family which was a shame.

Staff were very friendly. Happy to do anything and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was amazing!!! We got a free upgrade and the room was amazing. The leisure center was very clean and tidy. It had a amazing hot tub outside which we used in the rain as it was so hot !!!! : )
The spa was a 20-25minute walk away or 5 minute drive but very good and clean!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent location, close to Ambleside and Windermere but quiet and private. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel and grounds were immaculately kept and the food was particularly good.

The hotel staff was hospitable and knowledgeable. The location was beautiful - very close to the assorted lakes and other features of the Lake District, and town centre. Plus it was 5 mins drive from Windermere.

We picked the hotel because of the long list of happy guests on Booked.net. It is an excellent place to stay. The hotel is beautiful building, set in very nice grounds and a short walk from Ambleside. The restaurant dinner menu changes each day. The food is good and, again, good value. It isn't the cheapest hotel, but it is wonderful value. The staff are obviously proud of their hotel and take great care to ensure their guests enjoy their stay.

Very pleased with my stay. Staff were very friendly and attentive and room very comfortable. The breakfasts very excellent with a good variety to choose from. The choice of menu for the evening meal was good: food was well cooked and presentation was also good hovever, I thought it may have been a bit overpriced despite the discount for residents. But enjoyable nevertheless.

The room was beautiful, but the noise from neighboring rooms disrupted our rest.

Close to the Langdales, especially Skelwith Fold and Skelwith Bridge.Great walk through the meadows to Waterside and the head of Windermere.Ambleside just a few minutes walk away with plenty to satisfy most people whether rain or shine.Hotel very good accommodation and staff only too willing to please.Central location for touring the Lakes and well worth a stay.
On the whole it was a really pleasant stay - could not be faulted except for scrambled egg served at breakfast - I like mine to be soft to firm, not "runny" - but the staff take on-board your likes and dislikes and make sure that you are catered for .

The room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff very pleasant. Felt the evening meal menu, was a bit over priced, although the choice of food was excellent. The grounds were lovely, and altogether we had a really pleasant stay!

Slightly expensive, but it's worth staying.

Our stay was lovely, the staff were very friendly, we did not eat in the hotel as we were always out till late, although we did have breakfast which was lovely. The rooms were always tidied and cleaned nicely after we had been out for the day.
We used the spa the hotel recommended but found it wasn't up to the high standards of the hotel, maybe this was the fact that we were visiting during the schools summer holidays.

The hotel worked well and the service was carried out well by young staff. The food was first class.
Being a small hotel it had a lot of rules which you would only expect in a high class guest house.
